Eforie Sud, also known as Carmen Sylva during the pre-war years, is located between Eforie Nord, in the north (only 2 km away) and Tuzla, in the south, Lake Techirghiol in the west and the Black Sea in the east. The resort is situated only 15 km away from Constanța.
Eforie Sud is a quiet settlement, with long streets, covered with lush vegetation, with numerous villas and houses.
Its beach is the narrowest beach on the Romanian shore, due to the strong erosion in the area. The coastal line is very high and beach access is made possible by stairs. Its northern part, near Eforie Nord, is a 2 km area of excellent beach.
The resort is strongly recommended to those who seek quietness, lower prices and balneal treatments. Tourists can find here a balneal sanatorium, which offers its services all year round and a lido on the shore of Lake Techirghiol, where one can enjoy therapeutic baths.
In Eforie Sud, accommodation is available in a large number of villas and in a few recently built hotels. The majority of hotels are ranked with 1 or 2 stars. There are only a few 3 stars hotels and 4 or 5 hotels are not available.
