About The Annual Gathering of the Saxons Biertan

Each year, on the first Saturday after  the 15th of September, in  Biertan  takes place  the Annual Gathering of the Saxons.

 After the year of 1990, many of  them  have moved  to Germany, but they return every year to visit their  birthplace.

For those who wish to enjoy dances, music, exhibitions and  costumes  parade and also wish to visit the fortress dating from the reign of Matthias Corvinus, are invited to participate at this event.

The event gathers a large number of Saxons, both from Romania and from abroad, as well as many other tourists.

The parade of traditional Saxon costumes is the main attraction of the event, alongside the traditional Saxon dances.
