Mamaia is the biggest resort in Romania, with an accommodation offer, which consists of more than 60 hotels, among which 5 are rated with 5 stars, 5 with 4 stars and the rest, excluding 3 hotels which are rated with only one star, with 2 and 3 stars.

The beach from Mamaia, with a length of almost 8 Km and a width of 100-250 m, is the largest from the Romanian seaside. It has fine sand and the biggest part of it is leased to hotel owners and private investors. Immersion into the water can be generally made easily, without bumping into rocks or stepping on shells.

Mamaia is the only seaside resort in Romania which provides complete equipment for nautical sports. These sports (jet skiing, boat walks, pedal boat walks, windsurfing, yachting, kite surfing) can be practiced on sea and on Lake Siutghiol.

The late investments that were made have transformed Mamaia into the most attractive destination for the Romanian tourists.
The centre of the resort and the promenade have been entirely remade. The beautiful small square, with an artesian fountain and the gazebo, placed here for the orchestras, which perform every evening, are main reasons for the abundance of people who choose to spend their evenings in the Casino area.

The resort offers a multitude of restaurants, terraces, bars, clubs, pizzerias, discos, tennis fields, mini golf fields, volleyball and basketball fields. Also, there is a water park – Aqua Magic – and an amusement park, located in the Mamaia Holliday Village.

In the south area of the resort is located the well-known gondola, which crosses the resort from the southern part, near the Perla Hotel, up to the centre, near the Casino.

The numerous discos and clubs, among which some are very big and equipped with following western standards, are full every night. This fact has put the resort among the acknowledged clubbing destinations and it has determined tourists to call it the Romanian Ibiza.
