About Bride’s Veil Waterfall
Vălul Miresei (Bride’s veil) Waterfall, also known under the name of Răchiţele waterfall, is located in the Eastern slope of Vlădeasa mountains, in Stanciu valley in the area of Mărgău commune.
Located at an altitude of 1,000 metres, the waterfall is a fall in three stages, overall about 30 metres. Because of deep potholes from the top side of the waterfall, the water disperses in a way that is very much like a white veil, from where the name of the falls.
Her name is connected to a legend which reminds of a bride who had fallen off a sheer cliff, where it can be found the waterfall nowadays, her veil clinging to the rocks and covering them up. In the place where the bride has fallen is said that people gathered and their tears formed the waterfall.
