Ponto-Sarmatian steppes are a special habitat found in the Danube's Delta, on the Popina Island, from the Razelm Lake, for example.

The Popina Island is a strictly protected area. This fact means that there exists a series of major restrictions for both tourists and locals.
Ponto-Sarmatian steppes are habitats which generally include low waist plants, with the occasional presence of shrubs. The Ponto-Sarmatian steppes create a propitious habitat for various species, from small rodents to birds. The Ponto-Sarmatian steppes are a remainder of the old habitat which once used to cover all Dobruja and all Ukraine.
