This presentation has been removed.

Casa Taraneasca” (i.e. The Romanian Traditional House) was built in 1938 by Viorel Tilea, the Romanian ambassador in U.K. at that time. The ambassador never returned to Romania and so The House was given to The King Mihai as a present.

Before being nationalized in 1948, The House was used as a hunting cabin, being one of the favorite places of the regal family on Prahova Valley.

After being nationalized, The House was used as a protocol villa by Gheorghiu Dej (the first Romanian communist leader). Later on, when the Postavarul Villa was built near by, the complex was used by Ceausescu family.

Since 1991, The House has been known as The Romanian Traditional House. The restaurant was renovated in 2001 but it kept the specific architectural elements.

Beginning with the winter of 2003, the restaurant was reintroduced in the tourist circuit. Located in Predeal at the foot of Cioplea mountain, with a splendid architecture and which has a very warm feeling, “Casa Taraneasca” is a place that you have to visit.

The restaurant has 3 saloons: the main saloon which is decorated in rustic style, has a fireplace and a capacity of 50 seats, the secondary saloon is decorated with hunting trophies and has a capacity of 35 seats and the events saloon which has a 200 seats capacity. Also, the restaurant makes 7 booths (80 seats total) and a terrace of 150 seats available to its customers.
